FrameArt Studio opened in 1991 as Magruder Frame Studio, offering quality custom framing, great personal service and expertise as a great alternative to the big framing stores. Here’s how it all began:

The owner, Lisa Magruder, earned her BFA in 1981 then worked at a local gallery and frame shop for several years. She then opened and co-owned Frames Unlimited until 1988 when she returned to grad school to earn her MFA. As life goes, one by one the three babies arrived and Lisa decided to stay at home with her children and operate a part-time framing business out of her basement in Raymore, Missouri. What a fabulous decision that was! She was able to keep her hand in the art and framing business while being at home and raising her kids. Fast forward to 2000, where life brought her and her family to Folsom, California. Lisa then established her business in her new community and renamed it FrameArt Studio. She expanded the business to include original art and art classes for kids and adults.
