“In my work I intend to tell a story, to inspire the viewer, and to make an impassioned profession of my faith. Through the mediums of painting, printmaking, and collage, I aim to create something in between mere symbol and ordinary reality, to depict transcendence from the natural to the spiritual and to reflect both levels of existence. I consider the act of art-making a spiritual experience and a form of adoration and response to our Creator.”

Lisa Magruder grew up in Columbia, Missouri where she received a BFA in printmaking and drawing from Columbia College, 1981 and an MFA in printmaking and painting from the University of Missouri, 1991. Her family moved to Folsom California in 1999 where she owns and operates FrameArt Studio, custom picture framing and art classes for children and adults. Lisa is a member of the Folsom Arts Association, Sutter Street Artists, and the Folsom Chamber of Commerce. She is presently on the Folsom Arts and Cultural Commission and is a member of the Visual Arts Ministry at Lakeside Church.
